Two Great Weekends In A Row!

Our birthday gift for Claire and Chloe was a trip to Disney on Ice in Sacramento. Since it was going to be a girls only day with Aunt Suzie we decided to have Chris up the weekend before for some guy time with Papa even though Grandma would be here too. We had a super time, the weather wasn't great, but we kept busy inside most of the time playing games, building stuff with blocks, reading, and some baking. Chris and I were able to take a long walk in the afternoon where he chattered and sang the whole time. He wanted me to sing with him and I obliged most of the time but felt a little weird walking down the street singing. :):) He was as good as gold the whole weekend, so cooperative and full of fun!

Our happy little guest...

He ate like a trooper and told me that I make the best smoothies in the world!! Sometimes they do turn out pretty good (and healthy too) and I guess we were particularly lucky on Saturday morning.

Trying on Grandma's glasses...ooops, Chris, they are on upside down!

Helping out with a little baking....

This weekend was the planned trip to Sacramento. Claire and Chloe came up on Friday and kept us entertained and busy. Here they are almost ready for bed...

All dressed in their "Frozen" theme dresses and telling Papa goodbye.

Aunt Suzie doing a little hair repair when we made a quick pit stop. She is much better at hair tasks that I am.

We arrived a bit early as planned and found our seats. We were 6 rows from the ice so we had a really good view.

Claire and Chloe posing one more time....

And by this time they were both tired of taking pictures....

We had a wonderful day and we might just do it again next year and take Chris as well!

Hope you had an enjoyable Valentine's Day...♥

Birthday Week for the Three C's !!

On Tuesday of this past week Christopher turned four years old! Papa and I picked him up at pre-school and took him out for lunch. We expected that he would choose a local diner type restaurant that the kids all like to go to, but he said without hesitation, 'McDonalds'. So, off we went for lunch at Mickey D's. He seemed to have a great time and ordered a Happy Meal after telling us that he did not want a sad meal. He ate quite well and then we took off for the bike shop to pick out a new helmet for his birthday present.

That evening, the family, including Aunt Suzie and Uncle Superman, met at a sports bar for a birthday celebration dinner. Chris had been there quite some time ago and remembered a specific computer game that is available to play there and that was the basis for his choice.

Chris and his Daddy playing some driving game....

Claire using some of the available quarters.....

Chris and his Spiderman cake.....

Chris loved his dinner party and we all had a great time.

On Thursday Chloe and Claire turned seven years old! It happened to be my day to work in their classroom so it was particularly fun to be there and experience part of their birthday at school. Each of them had a special chair back cover put on their chairs....

And were each given a crown....

They were honored by the class reciting a special poem to each of them. I love their first grade class and their teacher....

They still had work to do but all in all it was a very special day for them.

On Friday Mike and Paula hosted a kids party for them at a local gym in their town. It was a great success from what I hear, all but two of their classmates attended.  Face painting was one of the many activities.

We finished off the week with a quick lunch out after church today. Happy Birthday Chris, Chloe, and Claire...and many more..... !  Now Grandma needs a rest!! :)
