Babies and Blooms

One of the perks of helping with the babies is having the chance to see some of Mike and Paula's beautiful plants. This Angel Trumpet was especially stunning this week, right outside their back door.

We had a few opportunities to enjoy Claire and Chloe this week. We can never get enough of them. Several weeks ago we noticed that Claire was intently looking at a picture of a baby sitting in a Bumbo chair on the box that their chair came in. Since then, we sometimes put it where it will assist in entertaining one of them. In this clip Chloe was definitely talking to "Billy" on the Bumbo chair box. We aren't sure what she was telling him, maybe you can figure it out.
In the 2nd clip, the singing is terrible, but almost any singing is loved by Claire. I guess this proves it.

Unusual Weekend

This past weekend was a bit unusual because Papa Norm went to LA. He usually does an annual trip with some of his "bird buddies" and they attend a popular bird show in the LA area.

While Papa was away, Grandma spent some time with Paula and the girls on Saturday. We attended a Baby-Eco Faire in Chico at the fairgrounds. There were lots of interesting and natural products that pertained to babies, childbirth and children in general. One vendor touched my heart deeply. She was a photographer and stopped Paula to tell her that she had lost twin girls at birth and that she has a special place in her heart for twins. She offered to do free pictures for her sometime. I thought that was very sweet.

The girls were as "good as gold". Claire slept most of the time and Chloe looked around and took in all the sights. At one point Chloe let us know she was hot but as soon as she was picked up and cooled off she was instantly fine again. The babies experienced their first thunder storm as we were leaving. I'm not sure they noticed, but Paula and I sure did. Those thunder clouds came along with all of the lightening that has caused our many, many fires in Northern California.

Uncle Jon is fighting one of them, I'm not sure exactly where but somewhere near his station.
I am praying for his safety.

The picture is one from last week of Claire sitting in her Bumbo chair looking at me with those big, big eyes.

A Great Week

Last Sunday Paula, Chloe, Papa Norm and Grandma went to Toys R Us to do a little looking around. Claire was with Daddy. Papa says Chloe was doing a little test drive on the girls' new Rain Forest Jumperoo. We had lots of fun looking at the toys.

Later in the week, Noni (Kathy, Paula's Mom) came to visit Claire and Chloe. While there, she and Paula took some precious pictures. Noni has moved a little closer to Chico so we hope she will be able to visit much more now that the drive is a bit shorter.

Grandma got some babysitting time in this past week as well and took a couple of videos of Claire and Chloe enjoying their new Jumperoo.

Father's Day was a bit different this year, we had two Dads to honor. We had a family dinner out, at one of Norm and Mike's favorite places, Italian Cottage, in Chico. Suzie, Eric, Paula, Mike, Claire, Chloe, Papa Norm and Grandma Sharon were there. We all missed Jon who is fighting one of the terrible fires that are going in Northern California. I so wanted to get a picture of Mike and the girls but Claire decided to sleep through dinner. They were little angels in the restaurant, we couldn't have asked for better babies. I will get the picture later in the week.

Happy Father's Day Mike and Papa Norm!!

A Bushel and a Peck

This little movie was taken this past week but seemed dark when I put it on the computer. I worked with it some in Windows Movie Maker this morning when I should have been cleaning house, and was able to lighten it up. Again, ignore the singing, and watch those little faces. Mom used to sing this song when I was little.

First week in June

This week I got to spend quite a few hours with Claire and Chloe. On Monday they had some shots which, of course, affected the next couple of days. They are troopers, however, and by today I think the shots were history. My accomplishment for the week was teaching Chloe the "raspberry" sound. She put her tongue between her lips very well but no sound came out until today. It was so cute. Mike and Paula apparently couldn't get her to do it for them later so I guess I will have to demonstrate the next time I am there. I also got a cute video of Chloe playing under the rain forest toy, she was definitely reaching and deliberately moving one of the hanging objects.
