Weeks on the Fly!

Although it didn't rain, as I remember, the week started out not being great "outside play" weather. So, in order to keep ourselves entertained, we pulled out the old standby play-doh. The girls worked very hard at making baskets, snakes, and worms.

Claire had a couple of days of being under the weather but thankfully it didn't turn out to be any full-blown illness. She is fine now. Claire slept an extra long time one day and Chloe didn't quite know what to do with the two-on-one attention. (Papa and Grandma). It was actually pretty funny. She would squeeze in between us on the couch and engage first one and then turn to the other, to make sure we were listening and paying full attention. We read lots of books that way.

Chloe insisted on helping Mommy when she came home with some groceries. That gallon of milk is heavy.....Chloe has had some very funny comments lately. Week before last, when she was in a little trouble and was in time-out, she said to Claire, "Claire, do something bad and come sit with me". I had a very hard time keeping my composure. This week when I called her Chloe she turned to me and said with some indignity, "Grandma, I'm Coco"!! I asked her what happened to the name Chloe Noel, and she responded, "I gave it away". So there you have it....she has given away her name. Can't wait to see what we will discuss this upcoming week.

June, 2010 here we come, May, 2010 will soon be gone forever!

New Wheels!

The highlight of the past week was, for sure, the new wagon that the girls got from Mommy and Daddy. The stroller is "old hat" now, and the ride of the day is the wagon!

Working at the easel....and coloring on one foot. Pretty talented, wouldn't you say?

Time with Papa and books... Claire and Chloe never tire of going over and over their books.

More wagon time....

The little girls look so grownup in this picture....

Sharing a little laugh.....

Sunday school time....walking the babies... It is so fun to see the girls taking part in the activities and especially enjoying the music at SS. Today, Chloe (which is a bit unusual) more than Claire, did some of the song motions and really got into the whole scene. Loved it!!

Having a snack... Chloe and her friend Jenna.

And Claire enjoying her snack.....

Claire makes sure the grass has enough water....

A great week past, and looking forward to a great week ahead.

Twin Interactions

If you have read this blog for a while you know we spend a lot of time singing when we are with the girls. Over the months, Claire was usually the "singer" but lately Chloe has picked up and is giving Claire some competition in the singing activities. The little movies below show segments of a discussion back and forth between the twins about singing. One usually telling the other one to stop. In the midst of the singing discussion, Chloe is taking Claire's hand and saying, "Glad to meet you Claire" before Claire removes her from the table. I hope this love of singing follows them through life, because a little music goes a long way in making a joyful soul. It was so fun this morning in Sunday School to hear Chloe singing right along as they sang "Jesus Loves Me."

A couple of close up pictures of the beautiful little faces this past week.

Chloe is the one that most often cuddles and cares for the dolls, but below I found Claire wrapping her little Amish doll up in the quilt and giving it some love.

Who knew that there are Popsicles that are slow melting and very small in size for toddlers? This Grandma sure didn't, but what a wonderful idea!

In Sunday School, for the most part the girls do their own thing but check on the whereabouts of the other frequently. This morning Claire and Chloe started out at different tables but eventually worked themselves in to being side by side to work on their project. Last week on Monday morning, Claire told me about the poor man that had "owies" on his legs and couldn't walk. It is amazing how much they get out of a story when you aren't sure they are even listening. Also later in the week, when Daddy got home from work, Claire asked him out of the blue if he "bemembered" about the man who couldn't walk. Pretty amazing what they absorb and remember. We had a lovely lunch out after church today where the two year old girls were very patient and well behaved toddlers. The child portions were huge and although they didn't seem to make a dent they did eat some of what was on their plates, using adult utensils.
Twins certainly share lots of things. Here Chloe and Claire chat away while Claire works on being a big girl. Sorry, no privacy here.......

Looking forward to a new week and exploring life with Chloe and Claire. Enjoy your week as well!

Fun At Home and Sunday School

We start out this week by eavesdropping on a conversation between Claire and Chloe about their bikes. Usually Chloe prefers the pink one and Claire the green one, but for some reason on this day they switched around. That's called sharing!

Claire and Chloe did some art work this week as well, still wearing their rain boots as you can see in one of the pictures below.

Snack time at Sunday School.

Outdoor play time at Sunday School.

Claire loved getting in on the races....

Chloe enjoying the playhouse and slide.
A few days before Mother's Day, Claire and Chloe got balloons for Mommy. They were so excited to show them to her. Chloe exclaims (as she had done in the store as well) that this balloon is "awesome".

My treasure this Mother's Day, are cards colored by Claire and Chloe. So precious! Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Incidentals

Claire and Chloe have great ways of entertaining themselves as well as each other. Below you see Chloe behind Dora's castle and there is a game they play repeatedly. Claire hands Chloe furniture and dolls from the castle and she tries to put the item through the windows from the back. I'm not at all clear what this is all about, but they play it often and seem to thoroughly enjoy it. Chloe always is the one up on the table in the back and Claire is in front. I have a really cute movie of them chatting away as they played but for some reason it won't upload. Claire "posing" for a picture.

One morning that I was there the girls ate an excellent breakfast. As all kids do, some days they eat very little, and other days they eat very well. Often one is eating well on a day that the other one is not. On this morning they both ate their scrambled eggs, strawberries, pears, and cheese. I was very pleasantly entertained watching them enjoy everything on their plates.

Chloe is definitely into her new rain boots mentioned a couple of posts ago. She wore them lots this week, in the house and out of the house. She even did some "cooking" in her rain boots.

The song for the week, apparently, was "Mary Had a Little Lamb" as you will see in the following two films. In one of the films, Chloe very pointedly tells Claire she sings very loud.

Looking forward to a beautiful week!
