And The Birthday Celebrations Continue.....

This week began our second round of January birthday celebrations. On Thursday evening our family went out for a Japanese dinner at a local place chosen by Uncle Superman, or as we know him, Uncle Jon, to celebrate his Friday birthday. It was a fun outing especially for the three C's as we watched the chef cook and serve our food. Chris and Uncle Jon pose below.

The chef was very entertaining and kept us all laughing.

Uncle Jon's beating birthday heart made from fried rice....

Chloe had lost another tooth at school that day and gives me her toothless smile!

Uncle Jon and Lisa....

On Saturday, Chloe, Claire, and Chris came to our house to spend the night in order to give Mommy and Daddy some extra time to prepare for the three C's combined birthday party which was to be on the following afternoon. And...what a party it was!!! Chris turns three today and Claire and Chloe turn six on Wednesday. Below is Uncle Superman helping to prepare the adult food on the deck overlooking the party area.

Oh the anticipation, below some of the earlier arrivals watch out the window for more guests and the famous guests....the ponies....to arrive!

More guests arriving...the three C's did a good job of greeting all the guests with hugs and smiles.

Finally the ponies arrive! Wow, the children were excited!

Chris, our sweet, loving, now three year old, greets his cousin Ezra with a hug then runs off to find out what else was going on!

The children got lots of time to meet and get comfortable with the ponies.

Then the pony rides begin with the birthday children getting the first turns.

Claire.....

Chloe....

And last but certainly not least Chris.....

The donkey was not for riding but he sure was a sweet, friendly, guy. Everyone enjoyed walking him around....including Aunt Suzie....

Paula had planned a great craft for the kids to do and it was a big hit. They made a pony from two little pots and added eyes, fringe or braid for mane and tail, and felt for ears and nose. They were so cute and I so wish I had gotten a close-up of one of the completed ones.

Cousin Alexa was a wonderful helper, below she helps Danica use glue from the hot glue gun.

Noni made the cutest pony bags for the take home goody bag. She is so artistic and creative.

My turn to walk a pony.....

Cousins Lisa and Emma.....

Whoo-hoo, time for the piƱata! Mike, along with a few helpers start to get it in place. It appears below, that Chloe is giving Chris instructions or else admonishing him...:)

Uncle Jon is giving directions...

Chloe goes first....

Claire tries next.....

And Christopher gives it a swing too followed by each and every child getting a turn. The younger ones didn't have to wear a blindfold.

Good job, Ezra!

The end result was the coveted candy....they all scrambled for it!

The final activity of the day was to paint the ponies and the donkey. Wow, did the kids enjoy that! The animals seemed to like it too. Chris didn't wait for a paint brush, he used his hands!

Below Chloe takes a moment to take a look at the lovely chandelier that Marc, Noni's husband, put up in the twins bedroom. It is very special and a great addition to their pretty little room.

The party was a huge success, the adults and the children all seemed to have a wonderful time. Paula and Mike did an outstanding job of planning and preparing. The children were all so well behaved which was the result of excellent planning, I believe. There was always something to do and little groups of children moved from one thing to the next, patiently waiting in line, when necessary, for their turns, and were happy and courteous. Such a great event! We can't forget to thank God for the beautiful weather which helped tremendously as well. A perfect day!

Below are a few more pics of kids enjoying themselves!

Now on to February, a month that will be much quieter for this family!
