Late yesterday afternoon Claire, Chloe and their Mommy and Daddy came up for a quick swim. It was a wonderful surprise to get the call that they were coming. Papa reports that the girls both did great in the swimming pool. I, unfortunately, was away for the first hour or so of their visit. After swimming Daddy and Claire relaxed in the Lazy-boy chair.

Fun with Great Aunt Jean
We have had a wonderful busy week during Great Aunt Jean's visit. Jean and Sharon spent quite a few hours going through paperwork and pictures that belonged to our parents. For every hour of doing that, we also had an hour with the babies. Such a reward! Here is Aunt Jeannie holding Claire and Chloe.
When we were babysitting one day, I got to feed them some squash and rice. This was my first time at feeding, but not their first solid food. Here are their precious little faces showing how much they were enjoying it. Claire is on the left, and Chloe is on the right.
Another cute shot of them on that day while dressed alike. They sure did look cute!
A special treat on Sunday was to bring the girls home to Grandma and Papa's house to spend the night. Aunt Jean got to have lots of baby holding time. This picture is of the babies' Sunday afternoon snooze. Well at least Chloe is snoozing!

Babies vs Dogs
Yesterday Papa and Grandma got to babysit Claire and Chloe while Paula took one of their dogs, Lucy, to the vet. The second dog, Biggs, had to stay home with us and was quite disenchanted with being left behind.
After Papa gave Claire her bottle, Biggs needed a bit of comfort and spent quite a while on Papa Norm's lap with his head buried part of the time.
Our last bit of time was spent with the girls on the couch with their basket of toys. They sure keep us smiling!
Tomorrow will be an exciting day. Claire and Chloe will get to meet their Great Aunt Jean from Iowa. She arrived today!

Blue Skies Again!
Finally! Blue skies have come back allowing Grandma and Claire and Chloe to take a walk outside yesterday. It was wonderful to get out and breathe fresh air again. Both of the girls enjoyed their time outside.
Later our friends Gayle, Erica, and Ashlynn visited for a while. Ashlynn is 6 weeks older than Claire and Chloe.
The girls posed for Grandma ...something new for them to do. :)
Here is a picture of Auntie Suzie and Chloe when she visited last week. She brought them new sun hats and Chloe is trying hers on.

Smoke and Heat!!!
Our days have been spent mostly indoors recently due to the continuing smoke and heat. The girls have kept me entertained and I hope that I have helped entertain them as well. Claire, in particular, always notices the windows and what is going on outside. She looks at the trees and the sunlight and seems so pleased with what she sees. Claire also demonstrated such a precious love for her Daddy yesterday. I was feeding her with her head on my left arm. Mike came home and sat down on the left side of me. Claire strained her head and neck backwards and upside down to get a glimpse of him. I finally sat her up and turned her towards him and she instantly looked him in the eye and just started babbling as if she had something important to share....amazing to this Grandma. [Maybe you had to be there! :):) ] Mike does enjoy his girls and it is so heartwarming to see.
Papa visited and helped feed the girls on Friday. Chloe curled up on his shoulder and fell promptly asleep. Uncle Jon and Aunt Suzie also visited the girls this week.
Chloe was so cute this week...she just smiles continually with her whole body. Below is a short clip of her "singing" in the swing.

Sunday, A Day to Be Thankful for Family
We were so thankful to be able to have breakfast with Jon who has been fighting fires for many weeks now. He was tired, with swollen eyes and a weary look, but we are so thankful for his safety. I was so happy when our Pastor prayed for all of the firefighters today. Jon has today and tomorrow off. His crew hasn't been reassigned to another fire yet, maybe they will be able "man" their station for a while for a little break. Let's hope so! Here is probably the latest picture I have of Jon, taken last Fall in Hawaii with Paula (twins on board!) and Mike.
