Snapshots from Hawaii

Our time in Hawaii is over but we have many memories and photos to help us recall the great times we had as a family, and as individuals, as well. We could not have asked for better weather. We had one afternoon and night of hard, hard, rain but after that we experienced a short shower only a couple of times.

The grand kids did have many activities they took part in but also had quiet times in the condo between activities or while Chris took his nap. Coloring was one of those activities.....

And watching videos....here are Claire and Chloe with their cousin Richard....

Our lanai was also a great place to get fresh air and in this instance catch the rain in their turtle dishes....

We spent many, many, hours in the swimming pools and at the beaches.

Sometimes underwater....and sometimes not....

 Ocean swimming with Mommy.....

Playing in the sand with Daddy.....

More beach time in Lydgate Park beach.....

The girls took classes to make leis, fabric flowers, picture frames and sun catchers. They took hula lessons, fished, and fed the koi in the koi pond...
Burning off some energy before one of the hula lessons....

Chris decides to join in....
Catching fish....Chloe caught 12, Claire caught 8. Chris wasn't old enough to participate in that activity, you had to be 5. Claire and Chloe were one week shy of being 5 but they got to fish anyway.

Two or three times there was a "no parents allowed" party where the children had pizza, a movie, and a craft. The girls went and enjoyed it so much. This picture was taken before their last party of the vacation.... Once again, Chris wasn't old enough to attend but he was excited anyway....

Mike and Paula managed to get away for part of a day and a hike....

Mike, Paula, and the three C's hiked at the beautiful Limahu'li Garden and Preserve.....

Lunch in Hanalei turned out to be shave ice for these two..... oh well, they are on vacation!

And then we explored the caves near Hanalei.....

Some of us were just a bit unsure.....

Chris did not want to get back into the car.....

Our family went to brunch at a yummy place in Poipu....

After brunch, Mike found and caught a small lizard that provided entertainment for a few minutes.

The last night of our stay, Chris and Papa had a grand time laughing and playing while Mike and Paula packed.....

A beautiful sunset, picture taken by Mike.... Kauai does have the most beautiful sunsets.....
We will go back...but not soon enough for me!

Happy birthday to our precious Chris, he turned 2 years old yesterday! Claire and Chloe turn 5 years old tomorrow, where has the time gone?
